Remove wind noise from audio and video
Outdoor recordings pick up wind as a low rumble and sudden thumps that bury the voice. Upload the clip and the AI removes the wind, keeps the speech, and levels it so the gusts no longer jump out.

Before and after
The rumble is gone and the voice holds steady between gusts.
How to take wind out of a recording
- Step 1
Upload the clip
An audio file from a recorder, a lapel mic or your phone. Video straight from a camera needs Premium.
- Step 2
Let the AI separate the voice
It keeps the speech and removes the wind, along with traffic and other outdoor noise.
- Step 3
Check it and download
Switch between the original and the result while it plays, then download the cleaned audio as MP3 or WAV.
Why wind is hard to remove
Wind does not make a sound in the air so much as push the microphone itself, which produces a deep rumble and loud thumps. That rumble overlaps the lower part of the voice. A low-cut filter removes some of it but also makes the voice thin, and it does nothing about the gusts.
The model works the other way round: it recognises the voice and keeps it, so the wind is removed without carving a hole in the speech.
What to expect
Moderate wind cleans up well. When a gust is so strong that it completely covers a word, that word was never recorded, and no tool can bring it back; you may hear a short gap there instead of the thump.
Keep the wind out next time
- Use a foam or furry windscreen; even a small one makes a big difference.
- Turn your back to the wind so your body shields the microphone.
- Clip a lapel mic under a layer of clothing rather than on top.
- On a phone, cover the microphone hole loosely with a finger or a scarf.
Questions about wind noise
Can you remove wind noise from a video?
On Premium, yes: upload the video and download the cleaned sound as MP3 or WAV, ready to put back under the picture in any editor. On the free plans, export the audio track first and upload that. It works best when the voice is still audible under the wind.
Why not just use a low-cut filter?
A low-cut filter removes some rumble but also thins the voice and leaves the gusts. The AI separates the voice from the wind instead of cutting frequencies.
What if the wind completely drowns out a word?
Then the word is not in the recording to recover. Moderate wind cleans up well; extreme gusts may leave short gaps.
Does it work on iPhone and Android videos?
On Premium, yes: MOV and MP4 files from phones are supported. On the free plans, record or export the sound as an audio file (a voice memo works) and upload that.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser, so open the page on your phone, choose the file (a voice memo, for example) and download the result there. Nothing to install.
Is it free?
Yes. Without an account you get 3 files up to 3 minutes each, 6 minutes in total, with no sign-up. A free account raises that to 30 minutes per file and 60 minutes of audio per day, still with no card. Premium allows up to 5 hours per file, 10 hours of audio per day, and fair use of 100 hours per 30 days.
What happens to my recording?
It is used only to make your result. It is never used to train models, and both the upload and the result are deleted automatically after 7 days.
