Remove echo and reverb from audio
Recorded in a bare room, a hall or at the kitchen table? Upload the file and the AI takes out the echo and reverb, keeps the voice, and evens out the volume. Hear it against the original before you download.

Before and after
The gaps between words are quiet again and the voice sounds close.
How to remove echo from a recording
- Step 1
Upload the file
Any audio file. On Premium you can upload a video too, and the sound is taken from it for you.
- Step 2
Let the AI clean it
It separates your voice from the room's reflections and removes them, together with any background noise.
- Step 3
Compare and download
Switch between the original and the result while it plays, set the output volume, and download MP3 or WAV.
Echo and reverb, in plain words
Echo is a repeat you can pick out: you say a word and hear it come back. Reverb is the wash of hundreds of reflections arriving a fraction of a second late, which makes a voice sound distant and hollow. Most recordings made in ordinary rooms have reverb rather than a clear echo, and the tool reduces both.
Equalisers and noise gates cannot fix it, because the reflections are copies of your own voice: they sit at the same pitches as the speech. The model instead learns what a dry voice sounds like and keeps only that.
Why recordings echo
- Hard surfaces: bare walls, tiled floors, big windows and empty shelves bounce sound back.
- Distance: the further you sit from the microphone, the more of the room it hears compared with your voice.
- Laptop and phone microphones: they are built to pick up the whole room.
- Large spaces: halls, classrooms and churches have long reverb tails.
What to expect
Light and moderate echo usually clears up completely. Very heavy reverb, such as a voice recorded from the back of a large hall, improves a great deal but may not sound fully dry. Listen to the result before you download; your original is always there to switch back to.
Questions about removing echo
Can AI really remove echo from a recording?
Yes, for speech. It separates the direct voice from the room's reflections and keeps the voice. Light and moderate echo usually clears up well; very heavy reverb improves a lot but may not sound completely dry.
Is echo the same as reverb?
Not quite. Echo is a distinct repeat you can hear; reverb is the wash of many reflections that makes a voice sound far away. The tool reduces both.
Does it remove background noise too?
Yes, in the same pass. Hum, hiss, traffic and other noise come out along with the echo.
Does it work on singing?
It is built for a speaking voice. To get a singing voice out of a song, use Separate music instead.
Is it free?
Yes. Without an account you get 3 files up to 3 minutes each, 6 minutes in total, with no sign-up. A free account raises that to 30 minutes per file and 60 minutes of audio per day, still with no card. Premium allows up to 5 hours per file, 10 hours of audio per day, and fair use of 100 hours per 30 days.
Which files can I upload, and what do I get back?
On every plan: audio files (WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG and Opus). Video files (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and WMV) need Premium; the sound is taken from the video and you download the cleaned audio. Results download as MP3 or WAV.
What happens to my recording?
It is used only to make your result. It is never used to train models, and both the upload and the result are deleted automatically after 7 days.
