Podcast audio cleanup without a studio
Most podcasts are recorded in spare rooms, offices and over video calls, and the room comes through in every sentence. Upload a track or a whole episode and the AI removes the noise and echo and brings each voice to an even level.

Before and after
Both voices sound like they were in the same quiet room.
How to clean up a podcast episode
- Step 1
Upload a track or the mix
If each person was recorded on their own track, upload them one by one. A finished mix works too.
- Step 2
Listen against the original
Switch between the two while it plays, at the same point in the episode, and set the output volume.
- Step 3
Download and edit
Download MP3 or WAV and carry on in your editor: add music, cut, publish.
What changes in the sound
Background noise (fans, traffic, computer hum, a neighbour's lawnmower) is removed, and so is the echo of the room, which is the biggest single reason home recordings sound amateur. Each voice is then brought to an even level, so listeners do not have to reach for the volume between speakers.
Microphone technique still matters: a voice recorded close to a decent microphone will always end up better than one recorded across a room. Cleanup closes most of the gap, not all of it.
A workflow that works
- Clean each speaker's track before editing; you get the best result when one voice is processed at a time.
- Remote guest on a laptop? Clean their track on its own; it is usually the one that needs it most.
- Add music, intros and stings after cleaning. The tool is built for speech and may reduce music under a voice.
- Keep the original files until you have published, in case you want to compare.
What it does not do yet
It cleans sound quality. It does not edit words: no removal of filler words, no transcript, no multitrack editing. Those are planned for Studio and listed on the home page with a waitlist.
Questions about podcast cleanup
Will it make my podcast sound professional?
It removes background noise and room echo and evens out the voices, which is most of what makes home recordings sound amateur. Good microphone technique still helps.
Should I clean each track or the final mix?
If you have a separate track per person, clean each one before editing; that gives the best result. A mixed file works too.
Can it handle a full episode?
A free account takes 30 minutes per file and 60 minutes of audio per day. Premium allows up to 5 hours per file, 10 hours of audio per day, and fair use of 100 hours per 30 days. Without an account you can try 3 files up to 3 minutes each, 6 minutes in total, with no sign-up.
Does it remove music in my episode?
It is built for speech, so music under a voice may be reduced. Clean the voice tracks first and add music afterwards.
Does it remove filler words?
No. It cleans sound quality only; it does not edit words.
Which files can I upload, and what do I get back?
On every plan: audio files (WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG and Opus). Video files (MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and WMV) need Premium; the sound is taken from the video and you download the cleaned audio. Results download as MP3 or WAV.
What happens to my recording?
It is used only to make your result. It is never used to train models, and both the upload and the result are deleted automatically after 7 days.
