An online alternative to Ultimate Vocal Remover (no install)
Ultimate Vocal Remover (UVR) is free, open-source desktop software for separating music. If you would rather not install an app, or your computer is slow at separating music, this web tool splits a song into vocals and instrumental in the browser, and the heavy work runs on our servers.
No sign-up for 3 files (6 min) · deleted after 7 days · never used for training
Drop a song to split
Audio files, up to 3 minutes
AAC · FLAC · M4A · MP3 · OGG · OPUS · WAV
Free: 3 files up to 3 minutes each (6 minutes in total), no account.
Before and after
The vocal on its own, as this site separates it.
How to remove vocals without installing anything
- Step 1
Open this page and upload the song
On a computer or a phone, in any modern browser. Use a song you have the rights to.
- Step 2
Let the server do the separation
There is no model to download and no graphics card to set up; the split happens on our side.
- Step 3
Download vocals or instrumental
Choose Voice only or Music only, or set your own balance, then download MP3 or WAV.
What Ultimate Vocal Remover is
Ultimate Vocal Remover is a free, open-source app (MIT licence) that you install on Windows or macOS, or run from source on Linux. It bundles several families of separation models, including MDX-Net, Demucs and VR Architecture, and lets you choose between them. It processes files on your own computer: on the processor, or faster with a supported graphics card.
Its developers publish it on GitHub, and its repository does not list an official online version. This site is not UVR and is not a hosted copy of it: it is a separate web tool with its own processing.
When UVR may suit you better
- You want more than two stems, such as drums, bass and other instruments separately.
- You want to choose between many models, or combine them, for each song.
- You prefer your files to stay on your own computer, or you work offline.
- You have a capable graphics card and many songs to process, with no plan limits.
When this web tool may suit you better
- You do not want to install software, or you cannot on this computer.
- Your computer has no fast graphics card, or you are on a phone or a tablet.
- You only need a vocal track and an instrumental, quickly.
- You want to hear the balance between voice and music change as it plays before you download.

Questions about UVR and this tool
Is this the online version of Ultimate Vocal Remover?
No. Ultimate Vocal Remover is desktop software, and its repository does not list an official online version. InverseAI Podcast is a different product that works in the browser.
Is InverseAI Podcast affiliated with Ultimate Vocal Remover?
No. InverseAI Podcast is an independent product from Inverse.AI and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Ultimate Vocal Remover or its owner. Ultimate Vocal Remover is a trademark of its owner, named here only to describe the comparison.
Is Ultimate Vocal Remover free?
Yes. It is free and open source under the MIT licence, and its developers accept donations. You install it yourself and it runs on your own computer.
How many stems does this tool give?
Two: the vocals, and the instrumental (everything else). For drums, bass and other instruments as separate stems, a multi-stem tool such as UVR with a four-stem model is the right choice.
Do I need a graphics card?
Not here: the separation runs on our servers, so any device with a modern browser works. UVR runs on your own computer; it can use the processor alone, and its documentation recommends an Nvidia graphics card for faster processing.
Is it free?
Yes. Without an account you get 3 files up to 3 minutes each, 6 minutes in total, with no sign-up. A free account raises that to 30 minutes per file and 60 minutes of audio per day, still with no card. Premium allows up to 5 hours per file, 10 hours of audio per day, and fair use of 100 hours per 30 days.
What happens to my recording?
It is used only to make your result. It is never used to train models, and both the upload and the result are deleted automatically after 7 days.
